Shawn Howard
Shawn Howard, Foreman

Education
B.B.A. in Finance from University of Minnesota, Duluth 1991

Shawn is the toughest guy in the field; he brings an Alaskan work ethic and a pro hockey player's toughness to the job. He was raised in Anchorage, educated at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, has a degree in finance, and is a retired pro hockey player for the Dayton Bombers. This guy keeps a job site organized and moving. Shawn's intensity can only be broken by Cody's daughter Eva when she calls out "Shawnee" on a job site. Shawn spends his weekends running mountain passes or riding his road bike for 100 miles. We are all happier now that Shawn has found Janet, his long time girlfriend.

Gray Mercer
Gray Mercer, Foreman & Special Projects

Education
B.A. in Visual Studies from Dartmouth College, New Hampshire 1983
B.A. in Earth Sciences from Dartmouth College, New Hampshire 1983

Gray is a true renaissance man. He has two degrees from Dartmouth, a cycling title, a pilot's license, is a well known sculptor, a furniture maker, and has an unmatched attention to detail. Gray is our special projects guy. If it's tricky, complex, challenging, or just downright impossible then Gray is the man for the job. Gray works with us during the week and hammers away in his steel shop after hours and weekends, all the while making time to be an amazing father to Rachel.

Graham Shivas
Graham Shivas

What can I say. This guy is a retired Scottish rancher. At 62 years old Graham puts most of the younger guys to shame when it comes to strength and agility. He can fix anything, he has a sixth sense for finding buried utilities, he's a graceful equipment operator, and he singlehandedly takes care of our vehicles and equipment. Thank you to his wife, Susan, for drawing him to Taos, NM from across the Atlantic. Graham spends his weekends polishing his Jaguar XK8, working in his barn, and being a family man. G3 is very lucky to have him.

Jake Waid
Jake Waid

How many Alaskans can one crew handle? Two is perfect. We've taken Jake, an aspiring actor, and molded him into a construction machine. Jake is one of the only hires we've made in the last few lean years. He previously apprenticed under the master carpenter at the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre and has played Hamlet, Henry V, and Brutus. How could we pass him up? Jake works his butt off and is a quick study. Jake spends his weekends acting and spending time with his lovely girlfriend, Ivy.

Mario Martinez
Mario Martinez

Mario is a master of all things finish. He has honed his finish skills for years with G3 enabling him to head up our painting and flooring. This guy can work. Mario would choose 70 hour work weeks if we let him. A husband, father, and a devoted Christian. We are lucky to have him.
