A private residence designed by Vishu Magee of Archetype Design, with engineering, drafting, project management and construction by Group 3.
The home is over 5,000 square feet built of 14" Rastra, adobe and some frame, featuring an indoor pool, elaborate grid-tied photovoltaic electric power, solar hot-water for slab and pool heating, gray water irrigation system, and a rooftop rainwater catchment system with a 10,000 gallon capacity in a buried cistern. The design also incorporates state of the art passive solar. The house has been pre-wired for wind power generation. A minimum of R-40 insulation will be achieved in the roof design using spray foam. All sustainable certified lumber and all non-toxic finishes, including American Clay Plaster walls. Construction was completed in 2007.
